Xavier Fux

After dedicating half my life to music and Dj’ing all over the world, a trip in 2006 to Punta Mona in Costa Rica changed my life and inspired me to learn about permaculture and sustainable living. Ever since that first course, I have spent many hours on the field in Tulum, Mexico, developing a close relationship with plants, fruits and all ecological matters. I run a company called Green Beat that provides green solutions in the Mayan Riviera and builds eco homes using green technologies. I’m interested in the relationship between man and plants, and how these can enrich our lives by teaching us to create strategic alliances in order to reach abundance; not only in our gardens, but in our social and everyday lives as well. I’m eager to put this philosophy to practice in the DRC in hopes of making new friends and symbiotic relationships that may last a lifetime.

Melanie Hogan

I traveled to Africa when I was 15 and promised myself I'd go back again and leave a part of me there. I returned in 2008 to go trekking with mountain gorillas in Rwanda and found yet another passion to lure me back to the magical continent I adore so dearly. I'm a photographer, an animal lover and have developed a strong interest in permaculture and seeking sustainable solutions to the problems our planet is facing. I practice law and specialize in renewable energies and efficient infrastructure projects, and now I am eager to contribute a little of what I know to help the people, the wildlife and the habitat surrounding the Kahuzi-Biega National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
