We contributed to the project by:
1. Teaching the families involved how to design a plot of land using
a simple and sustainable method to plant local crops according to permaculture
models, focused on highly nutritious, high-yielding, fast growing, easy to
maintain produce, in order to obtain the most benefits using the least energy;
2. Working hands-on with the families, both one-on-one and in groups,
teaching and helping them to plant, all the while motivating and inspiring them
to enjoy this activity;
3. Installing 2 rainwater capture systems with a total capacity of
about 20,000 liters in order to have water on site, as opposed to walking long
distances for water;
4. Showing the community how to filter the water for washing and even
drinking using 2 different types of easy-to-make filters;
5. Documenting the project.
